Duo Dogs trains and connects dogs with people who have physical, emotional, and social needs through assistance, facility, and therapy dog programs. The organization breeds, raises, and prepares assistance dogs to support individuals with disabilities. It develops facility dogs that work in settings such as legal and medical environments to provide
comfort and emotional support. Duo Dogs also runs a Touch Therapy program that trains volunteer handlers and their own dogs to visit hospitals, treatment centers, and other facilities. In addition, it offers basic through advanced obedience classes to the public to strengthen communication between people and their dogs. Duo Dogs operates reading support initiatives, including classroom and library-based programs that use dogs to encourage children to practice reading.
