SunContract is a renewable energy company headquartered in Estonia, pioneering a decentralized approach to how electricity is produced, traded, and consumed. At the core of its model is a blockchain-based platform that enables peer-to-peer (P2P) energy trading and NFT-based ownership of solar assets, bringing financial inclusion and transparency to
global energy markets. Through its platform, SunContract allows renewable energy producers to trade directly with consumers—removing intermediaries and reducing energy costs. The platform operates with a native utility token, SNC, which facilitates secure, automated transactions via smart contracts. A key innovation is the Personal Power Plant (PPP) model. This enables tokenization of real-world solar panels into non-fungible tokens (NFTs), allowing users anywhere in the world to virtually own or invest in solar infrastructure. Holders of these NFTs can either use the energy generated (if within licensed zones) or earn from its sale on the P2P marketplace, all without needing to install or maintain any hardware. SunContract is currently active across the EU with licensed operations in Slovenia, Estonia, and Croatia. As an early mover in MiCA-aligned energy-crypto integration, the company is positioned to scale across regulated markets in Europe and beyond. By combining clean energy, blockchain, and financial innovation, SunContract is building a decentralized, accessible, and climate-resilient energy future.
