Technasium develops and supports a secondary STEM education formula focused on project-based learning in science and technology. The organization works with havo and vwo schools, offering the subject Research & Design (Onderzoek & Ontwerpen) in which students work in teams on real assignments from external clients. Technasium provides the
didactic framework, quality requirements and tools for implementing this project education. It facilitates a national network of participating schools and partners, and connects them with organizations that supply practical assignments. Technasium also offers professional development activities for teachers and school leaders to strengthen STEM project education and competence development. Through these services it helps schools embed real-world technical challenges in their curricula.
