Beat Batten raises funds to finance research into therapies, medicines and treatments for Batten disease, a form of childhood dementia. The organization supports clinical and translational research projects, including long‑term studies at the Wilhelmina Children’s Hospital and collaborations with international researchers such as at Stanford
University. Beat Batten also develops information and education for medical professionals, researchers and families about the disease and its progression. In addition, the foundation offers support resources for parents and relatives, including information channels, peer contact initiatives and collaborations with partner organizations. It organizes fundraising campaigns and events to generate donations that are allocated to Batten disease research and related patient support initiatives.
