Stantek has a long heritage as a leading contract manufacturer located just outside of Lexington, KY. The Company was founded in 2003. However, the current Stantek team has nearly been continuously operating out of the same location for the past 20 years.
The current Stantek site was previously a Sanmina-SCI (NASDAQ: SANM) contract manufacturing.
The site operated until 2003, at which time the last of the production activities were moved to Mexico… which caused the parent company (SCI) to shutter the Stanton, KY facility shortly thereafter.
The Stantek founders were long-time SCI employees and arranged to acquire the previous SCI site and utilize the facility to continue contract manufacturing activities. The Stantek team's adherence to strict manufacturing standards allowed them to achieve both ISO 9001 and AS 9100 certifications which are critical to compete for Aerospace, Military, and other Industrial contracts. Currently, Stantek produces a large portfolio of such products for those industries…Wiring Harnesses, Throttle Control Cables, Electro-Mechanical Devices, as well as a variety of other products.
