SongwritingWith:Soldiers uses collaborative songwriting with professional songwriters to engage military veterans, service members, and their families through music. The organization runs structured retreats where participants share their experiences and work one-on-one or in small groups to turn those stories into original songs. These sessions
are designed to support expression, reflection, and connection among participants and with the wider community. Songs created through the program are professionally recorded, performed live at retreat concerts, and made available through online platforms. The organization has also developed online offerings, such as the Songs From Home concert series, to extend access beyond in-person retreats. Its activities focus on building creativity, connections, and strengths within the military and veteran community using songwriting as the central tool.
