SO Health-E promotes health equity by addressing disparities affecting underrepresented populations through community organizing, education, and policy advocacy. The organization convenes cross-sector workgroups focused on equity, diversity and inclusion, housing and transit, LGBTQ+ equity, and community engagement. SO Health-E develops leadership
training and community assemblies, supports culturally responsive events such as Medford Pride, and offers informational resources on topics like public benefits, voting, and COVID-19. Its policy committee evaluates and endorses legislative proposals using an equity framework rooted in community priorities. SO Health-E centers the voices of impacted community members to influence systems in healthcare, education, social services, law enforcement, and government.
