SmithMatthias is a multi-disciplinary design studio that focuses on furniture, lighting, product and wayfinding design. The studio develops chairs, sofas, stools, tables and modular seating systems for contract and domestic environments. It designs lighting products and bespoke lighting solutions, including projectors for artwork and interior
applications. SmithMatthias also creates accessories and objects such as clocks, glassware and bird houses, often in collaboration with manufacturing partners and brands. In addition, the studio undertakes spatial and systems work such as wayfinding schemes and portable bar structures for commercial clients. Its projects cover both self-initiated products and commissioned design for international companies.
