SmartThings believes that the everyday objects around us can do more to help make their lives easier, better, and more fun. To help them help the,, it’s created a variety of easy-to-use sensors that they can place in their home, office, and car. SmartThings lets these sensors communicate with each other, and with them–unlocking a new world of possibilities and resulting in the world’s most accessible and advanced open platform for the Internet of Things.
SmartThings notifies them about important things that happen at home when they’re away, and lets they turn dumb things like lights, fans, and other household objects into smart devices that can be instructed to automatically do what they want them to. With the push of a button, they can secure their home, control their energy use, and trigger things in them home or office to perform different actions when people or pets are present–wherever they are. Stay up to date by knowing when the kids come home from school or a spouse leaves work, get immediate alerts when unexpected events happen–like when a valuable item moves or there’s motion detected outside their home–and transform their daily life by doing more and worrying less.
SmartThings is also embracing developers by enabling them to create their own applications of the product–thus, ensuring that the range of uses and smart devices will significantly expand.
