Smart Grid Innovation Network Canada is a non-profit industry association that supports the decarbonization and electrification of Canada’s energy systems. The organization coordinates smart energy stakeholders including utilities, technology vendors, governments, Indigenous partners, academics, and communities. It delivers structured programs such
as international trade and learning missions, the Smart Utility Performance Index, and training like the Distributed Energy Resources Fundamentals (DER 101) course. Smart Grid Innovation Network also develops and operates the Energy Data Trust platform to enable secure, ethical sharing of energy and energy-related data. In addition, it provides policy input to federal processes, produces work products and reports, and convenes events, webinars, and member networks. Its activities focus on clean generation, grid modernization, customer and societal outcomes, and practical implementation of clean energy solutions.
