SHS Delft transforms vacant real estate into student housing and related facilities. The foundation focuses on temporary use of empty buildings to create affordable rooms, studios, and communal spaces for students and other target groups. It manages the full transformation process, including concept and design development, permitting, tendering,
and construction supervision. SHS Delft also develops feasibility studies and concepts for the reuse of vacant properties, mainly for owners and investors. In addition, it shares knowledge through lectures, presentations, and advice to developers, investors, students, and start-ups. The organization initiates design competitions and workshops to generate solutions for student housing and transformation challenges.
