Sharenergy supports community groups to set up and own renewable energy societies and projects. The co-op provides services including site finding, feasibility studies, business planning, and society setup for community energy initiatives. It helps clients design and administer community share and bond offers, deliver day-to-day administration, and
manage accounts and reporting for energy societies. Sharenergy also offers operational and asset management support for solar, wind, hydro, and heat installations, including power purchase agreements, maintenance coordination, and performance monitoring. The organisation conducts funded research and feasibility work under schemes such as the Community Energy Fund and Rural Community Energy Fund. Sharenergy delivers training, outreach, and troubleshooting for existing projects, aiming to strengthen local capabilities in the community energy sector.
