develop the almost lost machine tool industry in Russia, caused by the difficult economic and foreign policy situation, coupled with the need for modernization and development machine-building industries with modern metalworking equipment.

The team's goal was to create a new type of universal electrochemical machines that combine the advantages of the classical method of copy electrochemical processing with the principles of universal processing on multi-axis milling machines, as well as wire-cut electroerosion machines. Thus, working names appeared for new potential processing methods - electrochemical milling (EC-Milling) and electrochemical cutting (EC-Wire Cutting) - technologies that can complement or replace the finishing operations of milling, grinding and polishing, and, possibly, partially replace EDM wire cut. Having started the CEMAT project with attempts to practically implement R&D in the above areas, subsequently, it was decided to open 2 more business areas necessary for the commercialization and self-sufficiency of the company. Thus, already at the beginning of 2015, the CEMAT team began work on designing the production of EDM machines. The decision to master the production of special EDM machines was also made for other reasons: the proximity and even partial intersection of EDM and electrochemical processing technologies and sales markets; the potential possibility of combining electroerosive and electrochemical technologies in one universal machine with improved characteristics; as well as an almost complete absence (> 7% in its own market and 0% in the world) of Russian manufacturers of EDM machines in this segment. The second additional direction of the commercialization of the competences of the CEMAT team was engineering, services and pilot production of hard-to-work parts using electrophysical processing methods.

Today we specialize in the design and manufacture of machines for electrophysical non-contact methods of processing heavy-duty and hard-alloyed alloys. The main direction of R&D is the creation of machines for multi-axis electrochemical processing with a universal electrode. The next, but no less important priority, is the design and manufacture of specialized EDM machines.

SEMAT EDM machines are assembled by our experts from imported (> 80%) components manufactured by our order by professional OEM-manufacturers. After assembling the main components, the machines are equipped with the necessary components and SEMAT software for numerical control (CNC), and then debugged in our laboratory. We plan to bring localization of production using no more than 70% of imported components.
