Saaremaa SAR provides voluntary maritime search and rescue services in coastal waters. The organization coordinates response-ready units that conduct life-saving and property rescue operations at sea. It works in cooperation with official rescue authorities to plan and execute search, towing, and emergency transport missions. Saaremaa SAR also
delivers structured training for its volunteer responders, including multi-level maritime rescue, surface rescue, and medical courses. In addition to operational response, it offers water safety and prevention training for schools, youth groups, and other community audiences. These educational activities cover the use of lifejackets and rescue equipment, basic first aid, maritime communication, and safe behavior on and near the water. Through these programs and services, Saaremaa SAR focuses on improving maritime safety and reducing the risk of water-related accidents.
