Founded in 2016, Roojai Group is a leading direct-to-consumer (D2C) insurtech company in Southeast Asia. Starting as a digital MGA in Thailand, Roojai disrupted the traditional market by offering highly customizable, affordable, and data-driven policies directly to customers online.
While famous for car and motorcycle insurance (including the
Electric Vehicle coverage), they also offer cancer, personal accident, and travel insurance. Roojai uses a "person-centric" underwriting model, using data to assess individual risk and reward safe drivers with tailored pricing.
Roojai expanded to Indonesia in 2022, launching Roojai Indonesia as an online MGA in partnership with a local insurer. Roojai Indonesia offers car insurance, personal accident insurance and recently launched health insurance.
Major Acquisitions: To accelerate growth, Roojai acquired FWD General Insurance in 2023 (becoming a fully licensed underwriter in Thailand, Roojai Insurance PCL), bought DirectAsia Thailand in 2024 to become the largest direct insurer in the country, and acquired Lifepal, the largest online insurance comparison website in Indonesia, to expand its footprint into the country. The rapid regional expansion and acquisition strategy is fueled by significant capital, most recently a $60 million Series C funding round in late 2025.
