Company Performance Metrics
Response Ability Theatre creates socially conscious theatre and participatory arts projects that represent and support people experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, trauma. The company develops and presents shows that explore themes such as complex trauma, homelessness, coercive control, spiritual abuse, and systemic exclusion, often through
co-created processes with survivors. It runs recurring groups and workshops, including spaces for people with post-traumatic stress and programmes for survivor theatre-makers, using theatre-inspired techniques to support communicative confidence and wellbeing. Response Ability Theatre also collaborates with charities, research teams, and community organizations to design arts-based components of studies and community projects focused on housing, parenting support, mental health, and faith-related harm. Its work is aimed at survivors, allies, practitioners, and professionals who seek deeper understanding of trauma and its social contexts through performance and facilitated creative practice.
