Resource Rural is a national initiative that mobilizes philanthropic and public funding to help rural communities and Native Nations identify priorities, develop projects, and access federal and private investment. Resource Rural partners with local and Native-led organizations to support project development, implementation, and community
capacity-building. The initiative operates a national hub and network that shares information about funding opportunities and connects rural and Indigenous communities with resources. Resource Rural also supports advocacy and organizing so rural residents can influence policies and programs that affect their communities. In addition, it runs a storytelling and communications program that documents how local leaders use federal and other funding to strengthen housing, infrastructure, clean energy, agriculture, workforce, and community services. Through articles, story collaborations, and shared resources, Resource Rural helps rural organizations learn from peers and navigate complex funding landscapes.
