About the Company
RefugeeOne is an independent, not-for-profit organization that launched in 1982 and has been providing service to refugees resettled in the Chicago area ever since. Refugees are primarily focused on becoming independent and self-sufficient members of their new communities as soon as possible. Approximately 2,500 refugees of all ages, ethnicities,
faiths, and backgrounds are assisted by RefugeeOne each year with finding housing, learning English, acclimating to American culture, developing computer skills, finding employment, receiving medical care, and applying for citizenship. RefugeeOne makes its programs possible thanks to their dedicated staff members, who are many of them former refugees, and approximately 250 volunteers.
