Phenomyx develops open-source bioimaging instruments and analysis software for high-throughput organismal phenotyping. The company designs and supplies automated imaging platforms for embryos and motile organisms, combining 3D-printed components, single-board computers and motorized stages to capture long-term timelapse data in multiwell formats
and field environments. Its LabEmbryoCam and related systems support the measurement of traits such as growth, heart rate, movement and developmental timing in small aquatic organisms. Phenomyx also maintains and distributes quantitative image analysis pipelines and machine learning code libraries for tasks including segmentation, heartbeat detection, motion tracking and energy trait estimation.
