The inspiration for Pencil was driven by our own challenges and experiences in the jewelry industry, especially with existing CAD software.
We’ve seen how the complexity, the cost and the training requirements to use CAD software excludes most of the market and forces people to outsource their CAD work.
We want everyone to design directly in 3D.
From those who have an idea for jewelry designs or are considering starting a jewelry brand to the owners and managers of jewelry businesses and everyone in between.
We built Pencil to support many uses, including:
• Showing customers design ideas • Exploring early concepts and ideas • Explaining design direction to a factory or jeweler • Sharing and working on designs in tandem with other team members • Creating CADs that can be sent straight to manufacturing
We also understand that part of the price of ensuring Pencil is user friendly means not all designs can be created using our tool, and that there’s still designs that you might need to use complex CAD software or a freelance designer for.
This is why we priced Pencil starting at $19 per month (far less than 1 CAD model on the market from a designer), to deliver as much value as possible to our customers.
So, while we might not cover every design requirement you have, Pencil is still a cheaper, more accessible, and more enjoyable option for designing directly in 3D.
