Company Performance Metrics
Northing builds a mobile application that verifies summit ascents across Great Britain using post-hoc GPS activity data. The app ingests activity records from Strava, GPX files, and FIT files, then compares raw coordinate samples against a database of Munros, Wainwrights, and Marilyns. It applies a fixed 200-metre horizontal tolerance to determine
whether a summit has been reached and records verified and unverified ascents in a private ledger. Elevation gain is calculated primarily from barometric pressure data, using GPS altitude as a fallback where necessary. The service runs on iOS for iPhone and focuses on activity verification rather than route planning or real-time navigation, providing users with structured summit registry data and personal completion history.
