Founder and CEO Rachel Honeth Kim is a Harvard Business School graduate and x-Googler who started to notice a proliferation of nail art being posting on social media in 2013. As she started experimenting with nail art herself, she realized the vast majority of nail art products on the market were not well designed, were made in China and had no
focus on quality. Not satisfied with her options as a consumer, Rachel set out to create something new in the nail art category.
After a lot of research, Rachel launched Nailed Kit in September 2013. All of Nailed Kit's products are made locally in San Francisco and are non-toxic and cruelty-free. Nailed Kit teams up with some of the industry's top designers and illustrators to create the designs and give them a percentage of every sale to thank them for their hard work. The company sells direct to consumer online and has a growing subscription and wholesale business.
Nailed Kit has been featured in a variety of publications such as Seventeen Magazine, Teen Vogue, Lucky Mag, Real Simple Magazine and many more! Entrepreneur Magazine also featured Nailed Kit in their "10 Biggest Opportunities of the Next Year" feature in 2013.
