- Samuel Moses: Founder
Start-up company, miWi-Fi.net, LLC is a minority, Veteran and Native American owned installation and integration firm focusing on rural wireless broadband services, municipal Wi-Fi and Aruba Networks Bring Your Own Device (BYOB) deployments. They will operate as a Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP) building their own network and network
back office for routing internet and Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) traffic.
Company Background
Their service will provide high speed broadband to rural areas that are currently under served by the local incumbent providers. The service will include high speed internet access equivalent to DSL speeds or greater, voice over IP (VoIP) and video services in rural, economically disadvantaged areas.
In Madison County Alabama there are areas that do not have the option of high speed internet access due to the population, terrain features and cost of network deployment. It is their goal to use a combination of WiMAX (802.16d/e-2004) and a Wi-Fi delivery solution to provide these services as the cost of network deployment is low and it will cover a large geographic area with the desired broadband coverage.
Some residents and businesses are currently using dial up access and are paying a high price for T1 services from Local Exchange Carriers (LEC’s) and Competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLEC’s).
The delivery of their service is what will differentiate us from the competition and gives us a competitive edge. Their rollout costs are lower and provide a quicker ROI to their investors.
