Mint was formed in 2002 to provide North America’s first mobile payment solutions for parking authorities, municipalities and private operators. In 2003, Mint expanded operations to include the issuance of stored value MasterCard products as the first Program Manager in Canada, merchant acquiring, processing and digital document exchange in 2003.
By 2006, Mint became the exclusive provider of mobile payment and card parking products to North America’s largest private parking management companies (60+% NA market share), municipal parking authorities and telecom companies (Bell Canada).
As Canada’s first prepaid MasterCard program management and processing company (TPP, PCI, MSP, PayPass), Mint developed technology, distribution and “top-up” infrastructure across 7,300+ locations and issued over 20 MasterCard programs for Rogers Communications, Much Music, Shoppers, Tim Hortons, Canadian Football League, TNS and Affinity and the Canadian federal government.

Mint has built a world class payment processing and issuance platform that provides industry leading financial services tailored to the needs of unbanked workers and their employers.
