MedPic tries to solve a very real world problem as medicine at home is ever increasing and there are millions of non-connected medical measurement devices currently are in use at home to monitor chronic diseases. The measurements captured by these devices are not digitalized, resulting in a lack of physiological data and easily accessible to
doctors and health care proffessionals.
Further, smart device penetration is still at a very early stage as Bluetooth connected devices can have adoption issues (we've all struggled with very consumer friendly bluetooth headphones) and are typically 2 to 10 times more expensive.
MedPic solves problem by using computer vision to read the physiological measurements and securely creating a digitised observation. The economic argument for at home healthcare providers is fairly straightforward as you can use significantly cheaper devices at home and there's reduced need for training as pretty much everyone knows how to take a picture. For device manufacturers there's also an economic argument as there's no need for new devices and expensive certification cycles.
