In 1939, John J. Gruene, an immigrant from Europe, founded the Masterwork Paint Company in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His vision was to create a true, full service source, of premium quality paints and sundries to serve professional painters and homeowners in the region.
Today, John's vision and his business continue to thrive. Now in its
fourth generation, John's family continues to both own and directly manage every aspect of his business. Masterwork's 11 locations now span throughout Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio. As an acknowledge industry leader, Masterwork continues to offer superior products and services to a myriad of clients.
As master distributors, Masterwork provides coatings and related sundry products to a wide range of end users. Consumer, Contractor, Commercial, Institutional, and Industrial clients; whatever their coating needs, Masterwork has the solution.
For Consumers, we offer our in-store design centers, where our on-staff decorators feature the latest in decorative coatings, wall coverings, and window treatments. If you can't come to us, we offer our new ASID Designer, in-home color consulting program. Partnering with Pittsburgh Paints and ASID, for a small, totally refundable fee*, Masterwork will have a certified ASID Designer visit your home and assist in both color and product selection.
