Lilipad is a nonprofit organisation that creates children’s libraries and literacy programmes for those affected by social exclusion and displacement. The organisation partners with refugee accommodations, youth centres, schools, community centres, and child protection institutions to design and run multilingual, culturally affirming library
spaces. These libraries provide access to storybooks, textbooks, and educational materials alongside regular reading, storytelling, and art-based workshops. Lilipad employs local librarians and collaborates with artists and educators to facilitate activities such as creative writing, music, graffiti, and poetry sessions. The organisation also runs community initiatives including a donor book club and public events that connect supporters with its educational work. Through these programmes, Lilipad supports children in building reading habits, creative skills, and engagement with cultural life.
