Company Performance Metrics
Liflad is a not-for-profit design lab that focuses on ecological design, regenerative textile systems, and cultural education around clothing and fibres. The organization researches, designs, and pilots agroecological systems for local textile fibres, clothing, and heritage-based crafts. It prioritizes bast fibres such as flax and hemp, exploring
low-energy, decentralized cultivation and processing to reduce dependence on global, extractive supply chains. Liflad delivers community fibre projects including Devon Grows Flax and Totnes Grows Flax, where participants learn flax growing, processing, spinning, and weaving. It convenes and facilitates the UK Bast Fibre Network to support knowledge exchange and collaboration among growers, processors, and makers. Through reports, strategic research, and consultancy, Liflad supports partners to design governance, finance, and enterprise models that align textile production with ecological and social parameters.
