Company Performance Metrics
Lifetime Television is a premiere entertainment destination for all women, focused on offering a range of original programming, including scripted and non-fiction series as well as movies. Along with Lifetime Movies, Lifetime Real Women and Lifetime Digital, Lifetime Television is part of Lifetime Entertainment Services, LLC, which is a subsidiary
company of A+E Networks. A+E Networks’s associated brands include A&E, HISTORY, Lifetime, LMN, FYI, and Vice TV, and it is a joint venture between Disney-ABC Television Group and Hearst Corporation.
Lifetime Television seeks to create content that understands, empathizes and showcases women and women’s issues. In the 1980s, Daytime from Hearst-ABC Video Services, also referred to as BETA, curated content for women as a cable service. Additionally, the channel Cable Health Network produced health-focused media. These proved to be Lifetime Television’s creative inspiration. In 1984, Lifetime was created after Hearst/ABC’s Daytime and Viacom’s Cable Health Network partnered up. In its early days, Lifetime aired talk shows, call-in-programs and medical information. Lifetime Television now produces made-for-TV films, reality series, second-run syndicated series, feature films and made-for-television films. It also provides broadcast coverage, HD simulcast and international programming.
Some of Lifetime Television’s main goals center around corporate responsibility to create equal opportunities for female professionals in the entertainment industry and to support different female communities. These actions include Lifetime’s Stop Breast Cancer for Life, Broader Focus, #SheDidThat, Her America series, History Herstory series, Lifetime Real Women Network, SheReports newsletter and Stop Violence Against Women campaign.
Lifetime Television is headquartered in New York, New York, and operates in more than 110 territories across the globe.
