Company Performance Metrics
Lately is a global peer-to-peer rental marketplace built around a simple idea: the things you own shouldn't sit idle, and the things you need shouldn't require ownership.
The platform connects verified suppliers — individuals and small businesses — with renters across six categories: Gear (cameras, lenses, lighting, production
equipment), Events (tents, tables, PA systems, décor), Studio (photography studios, podcast rooms, creative spaces by the hour), Clothing (fashion, formalwear, costumes), and coming soon — Tools and Wheels.
Lately operates on a subscription model, not a commission model. Suppliers pay a flat $20/month for unlimited listings and keep 100% of their rental income. There are no per-booking fees and no revenue share — Lately earns only through subscriptions. This means suppliers set their own prices and profit entirely from the value they create.
Trust is built into the platform at every layer. All suppliers complete NIC-based identity verification before their shop goes live. Renters pay an advance deposit at booking confirmation, secured before pickup. A two-way review system and dispute mediation layer build accountability on both sides. A two-way review system builds reputation over time. Lately Circles — a private social trust graph — maps real-world trust relationships between users so suppliers can see how closely connected a renter is to their existing network before accepting a booking.
Founded in April 2026 and headquartered in Sri Lanka, Lately is building the infrastructure for a world where access beats ownership.
