Laney College is one of the largest community colleges in the Alameda County region, and its academics include everything from the arts to professional programs of study. Laney College’s downtown Oakland location also offers easy access to cultural activities, entertainment and more.
Laney College’s more than 14,000 students come from all over
Alameda County. Students may earn an associate’s degree, certificate or professional diploma, get a career-focused education or complete the first two years of their bachelor’s degree.
Laney College’s dozens of majors cover a diverse set of fields. Examples of majors include:

Laney College provides financial aid to qualifying students. Types of aid include state grants, federal grants, work-study and federal student loans. A FAFSA is required for all of these financial aid sources. Laney College also lists information about outside scholarships.
Anyone with a high school diploma or GED may enroll in most of Laney College’s programs. Applicants must complete an online admissions application.
