The Land Development Agency (LDA) is a commercial, State-sponsored body established in 2018 to manage and develop land for housing and other purposes. With a focus on optimizing the use of state-controlled land, the LDA plays a crucial role in accelerating the development of housing projects across Ireland. The agency is involved in coordinating
land within State control, ensuring the efficient use of resources to address housing needs. The LDA also works on producing a Register of Relevant Lands and a Report on Relevant Public Land, tools designed to streamline the development process. With a team of 16 employees, the LDA is committed to facilitating the creation of new housing developments, including one of Ireland's largest housing projects, and launching applications for cost rental apartments.
