Kulabyte is a company that specializes in real-time, high-quality video encoding for streaming events. They claim that they can provide "faster than real-time" 2-pass Variable Bit Rate (VBR) encoding, which they say is a "first for the video industry." Kulabyte achieves this speed and quality by splitting up the video and encoding small chunks in parallel and then stitching them together as the video transfers.
Kulabyte was chosen as the streaming partner for the high-profile Operation MySpace event in March 2008.
