K'uul Power is an Indigenous-led renewable energy coalition formed by Northern British Columbia First Nations to advance transmission and generation infrastructure. The organization coordinates participating Nations in planning, owning, and governing major clean energy projects such as the North Coast Transmission Line. It develops structures
for equity ownership so First Nations can share in returns and influence project design, routing, and procurement. K'uul Power works with provincial partners and BC Hydro to modernize the regional grid and extend three-phase power to communities and project sites. Its activities include negotiation of project term sheets, development of special purpose vehicles for co-ownership, and provision of shared governance frameworks. Through these efforts, K'uul Power supports Indigenous participation in a decarbonized regional energy system and facilitates collaboration among affected Nations on large-scale infrastructure.
