Ionscope is a division of Synoptics Ltd, headquartered in Cambridge UK, is the world-leader in Scanning Ion Conductance Microscopy (SICM), a rapidly emerging Scanning Probe Microscopy (SPM) technique which not only allows nanoscale topographical mapping of soft and delicate surfaces, but also enables precise positioning of a probe to a specific
spot on the sample surface for further manipulations.
Based on a successful research and development program at Imperial College London and the University of Cambridge, Ionscope was founded in 2004 and became a division for SICM under Synoptics Ltd. in 2019. Ionscope’s SICM is installed in labs worldwide in Asia, North America and Europe to help researchers with new discoveries.
Synoptics was founded in 1985 and has 34 years of expertise in digital imaging. Synoptics has 4 divisions including Syngene, Synbiosis, Synoptics Health and Ionscope, which develops imaging solutions for gel documentation, microbial applications and clinical enviroment. Synoptics is a part of Scientific Digital Imaging plc since 2007.
