When fully developed their robots will inspect, clean and repair tanks, tanks that hold water, and tanks that contain hazardous materials, such as gasoline and other chemicals.
Today, to maintain tanks, the contents have to be removed, and human
beings have to go inside. And that’s costly, but more importantly it’s very dangerous! 95% of accidents, often involving the loss of life, occur when tanks are being taken out of service.
