Company Performance Metrics
i-Scientifica have developed a prototype additive manufacturing machine and metal inks for metal 3D printing (precious metals, gold ect.) ( I AM 3D – Ink additive manufacturing 3dimesional) focusing on the Jewellery and watch industry at present. The process requires minimum material compared to powder bed printers, whereby only the quantity of
material is needed for the printing part and hardly any post processing is needed as parts are printed at 1-2um layers, able to print multi materials at the same time. Resulting in huge savings of material and labour cost compared to traditional and present manufacturing technologies.
Being in the Jewellery design and manufacturing business – ForeverBright . We use the latest manufacturing technologies such as CAD design and 3D printing (wax models) For micro and small business to invest in further technology for the manufacture of jewellery ect. A huge capital outlay is required to invest in metal 3D printers (additive manufacturing machines) for industry specific as machine cost + material cost (quantity) is too high for the production capability of these machines. At present the industry specific 3D printer’s price structure is for big businesses but the capability is for micro businesses. With a background in mechanical engineering and experience in precious metals I stared research and development on a 3D printer for industry specific applications. After 3 years of R&D I now have a prototype machine and precious metal ink formulas.
In February 2013 i-scientifica was established as a sole proprietor to develop 3D printers and metal inks. As I now have a prototype machine and metal inks the next step is develop printer software and a printing platform and procure high precision hardware parts as up to date open source software and low precision parts make up the prototype machine and operating system.
There is a huge market for an industry specific 3D printer at a price point that is affordable for micro and small
