Hookflash develops software technology that powers real-time IP voice, video and data communications for mobile and Internet use. Hookflash "ORTC" (Object-Real-Time Communications) technology is recognised by Google, Cisco, Microsoft and Global engineering standards bodies including the W3C and IETF as "WebRTC NV" (Next
Version). Programmable Web explains: “Today, Hookflash Object RTC (ORTC) is supported by Google, Microsoft, Cisco and other leading technology companies.” (Hookflash ORTC software powers video chat for Microsoft in the new Windows 10 browser “Edge”) Hookflash “ORTC” (Object-Real-Time Communications) enables developers to overcome many of the complex challenges of delivering real-time data, video and voice connections over heterogeneous global Internet and mobile networks.
“WebRTC is the most important new communications technology of the decade, said Dean Bubley, author of the report and director at Disruptive Analysis, in a statement. “It is already enabling developers to create a broad array of communications-enabled consumer and business applications. More than six billion devices will be WebRTC-capable within five years”.
By the end of 2019, more than a billion people will be regular users of WebRTC, through their day-to-day calling, social network or enterprise applications."
