Herr designs and supplies ecological water and wastewater systems that focus on low-energy, plant-based treatment. The company provides composting toilets, including Aquatron flush-connected units and porcelain waterless toilets, along with urine-separating options. Herr designs reed bed systems using plants, flowers, and trees to treat domestic
wastewater, greywater, and sewage with minimal pumping. It also offers rainwater harvesting systems for non-potable uses such as toilet flushing and household applications. In addition, Herr develops front-of-pipe urine treatment solutions, including the Herr phosphorus recycling reactor and hydroponic flower systems that recover nutrients as fertiliser. The company provides consultancy and co-design services with architects to integrate ecological water and wastewater management into building projects.
