HEMA is originally a Dutch discount retail chain that began as a dimestore, now owned by the British investment firm Lion Capital since 2007. It has more than 680 stores across the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, France, Germany, and Britain selling an extensive product offering in every household category under the HEMA brand.
HEMA sells
general merchandise, including clothing, baby products, party & gift items, office supplies, home & garden and beauty supplies providing customers the range of general merchandises under one roof through its retail outlets and online website. HEMA employs an in-house design and development team that supports the company’s creative, modern product design and strong value pricing.
It is one of the well-known brands in the Netherlands. Jewish entrepreneurs Leo Meyer and Arthur Isaac founded HEMA in 1926, with its headquarters in Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
