HarvestX began as a basic notion to adapt robot technology to agriculture at the Hongo Tech Garage, a project area for students at the University of Tokyo. The company discovered the potential of indoor vertical farms for producing fruits through multiple conversations with indoor vertical farms and food manufacturers, as well as various trials.
