In particular, demand for silicon carbide from the EV industry far exceeds supply. This
semiconductor substrate material has voltage- and temperature-handling capabilities that far exceed those of silicon. But it is a very challenging material to make. GTAT is at scale now for high-volume production of its CrystX™ silicon carbide, and it has an aggressive cost-down roadmap moving forward.
