This process is based on proprietary technology that the Company has licensed from The
Johns Hopkins University. This technology is centered on a genetically-modified bacterium which produces pure forms of glucosamine and N-acetylglucosamine from chitin-containing materials. The glucosamine can be reacted with a variety of acids to form the products common in the market (i.e. GlcHCl).
