Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack is a type of Denial of Service (DoS) attack where multiple compromised systems, which are often infected with a Trojan, are used to target a single system resulting in a DoS attack. Victims of a DDoS attack consist of both the targeted system and all systems maliciously used and controlled by the hacker
in the distributed attack.
A DoS attack is different from a DDoS attack. The DoS attack typically uses one computer and one Internet connection to flood a targeted system or resource. The DDoS attack uses multiple computers and Internet connections to flood the targeted resource. DDoS attacks are often global attacks, distributed via botnets.
Traffic attacks: Traffic flooding attacks send a huge volume of TCP, UDP and ICMP packets to the target. Legitimate requests are lost and these attacks are often accompanied by malware exploitation.
Bandwidth attacks: Bandwidth attacks overload the target with massive amounts of junk data resulting in a loss of network bandwidth and equipment resources and can lead to a complete denial of service.
Application attacks: Application attacks deplete resources in the application layer by application layer data messages, rendering the target’s system services unavailable.
Awareness in cybersecurity has been escalated to the homeland security level with the advancements and the sophistication of attacks in a few years. Before they entered the 21st century most people were unaware of the threat to businesses and governments alike, capacities for those attacks never exceeded 100 Mbps, however today they see staggering figures and capacities exceeding 800 Gbps.
Attacker profiles has expanded from simple hacker groups to full-scale government funded projects in the last decade, affecting millions of people, businesses, infrastructures and organizations alike. Criminal organizations and hacker activist groups create and sell botnets (infected, sleeper-like computers) to target specific targets, for as low as $10 an hour.
With the latest developments in attach capabilities, demand for security is at an all time high. Damage not only can be inflicted at an economic scale, but personal information and data security are also vulnerable for all and such attacks can damage the reputation for organizations across the board.
In the next decade the computing power and connectivity will continue to increase exponentially, and the need for security for security solutions will require innovative ways to ensure their way of sharing information in a world that is connected like never before.
Traditional methods for mitigating such attacks like over-provisioning or rate-limiting are now outdated in the wake of sophisticated attack strategies.
Over-provisioning: Using additional hardware to support incoming threats, can only prevent immediate threats and can have little or no effect on future threats at different scales. Also additional hardware costs and the cost of maintaining such operations demonstrate how criminal organizations inflict damages financially.
Rate-limiting: Using pre-configured algorithms and protocols to prevent attack turn out to be useless in the face of unrecognized new threats or unlisted breaches.
Globull Networks has developed the next generation anti-DDoS firewall technology superior than any product in the market today to prevent all forms of DDoS attacks (as well as other types of cyber-attacks) on large-scale information systems.
In Globull Networks they strive to achieve a world with less threats in order to secure their economies, infrastructures, personal information on an affordable budget, yet achieve the best possible protection the world has ever seen. From the largest organizations to small businesses, Globull Networks offers the one and only protection against DDoS and major threats.
When users face a major attack Globull’s revolutionary advanced detection and mitigation systems can detect the threat within seconds and begin syphoning the good traffic while actively and simultaneously preventing bad traffic from reaching the critical systems of the end users. It allows the protected computer network to continue operating at normal speed, resulting in a much higher level of efficiency than is possible with any product on the market today.
One of the major issues of today’s cybersecurity solutions is the fact that companies use “Block IP” method. However Globull’s approach is truly revolutionary. It does not use the “Block IP” approach, which blocks the IP addresses of large number of computers, most of which are operated by law abiding people. Instead, Globull firewall differentiates between normal computer users and bots (which are computers that are taken over by attackers without the knowledge of their users) and then block only the bots. This approach allows Globull to not waste time by focusing on normal users (false positives) and concentrate on and neutralize bots instead.
They understand the need for protection to secure data and connections in the world. In an attempt to secure their interests, users in major organizations invested heavily in this technology; and quite frequently small businesses and organizations fall short in this technology due to initial investment and running costs. Globull Networks plans to change this predicament. With their end-user programs and affordable packages, they provide flexibility, scalability, and the same level of protection across the board.
Globull Networks is ready to secure what you deem the most important for you today.
