GiveLight Canada is a registered not-for-profit organization that serves as the Toronto chapter of the GiveLight Foundation. The organization focuses on improving the lives of orphaned and vulnerable children in communities affected by poverty, natural disasters, and conflict. It channels donations into constructing and sustaining residential
homes, as well as providing food, medical care, clothing, and emotional support. GiveLight Canada funds access to public schooling and after-school tutoring in subjects such as English, mathematics, computer studies, and Quranic Arabic. It operates orphan sponsorship schemes that allow donors to support individual children’s basic living costs. The organization also manages dedicated higher education and scholarship funds to help students continue to secondary and university studies. In addition, GiveLight Canada collects and distributes zakat in compliance with Islamic guidelines, directing it to eligible recipients through food, clothing, books, medical support, and other transfers of wealth.
