GigXchange is the UK's first peer-to-peer live music marketplace. It connects artists, venues, agents, and promoters in one platform — replacing the emails, spreadsheets, verbal agreements, and cash payments that have defined live music booking for decades.
Any user type can initiate an engagement. Artists can approach venues directly. Venues
can post available dates with fees shown upfront. Agents and promoters can manage bookings for their roster. There are no gatekeepers and no closed networks — the entire marketplace is open and democratised.
Every booking on GigXchange gets an automatic digital contract. Payments are held securely via Stripe and released when the gig is complete. Built-in messaging, reviews, calendar sync, and a full dashboard give both sides visibility and accountability at every stage.
GigXchange was built solo by founder Naumaan Zahid — a rock and metal guitarist who has been gigging since 2009. Frustrated by the broken booking process (ghosting, verbal agreements, chasing payment), he taught himself to code with AI and built the entire platform from scratch in six months.
The platform is currently in Open Alpha, with free access for the first 250 musicians and 250 venues. It is live and fully functional across the UK.
Key features: profile management, gig search with filters (genre, location, budget, date), booking state machine (14 states), automatic contracts, Stripe escrow payments, real-time messaging, two-way reviews, calendar sync (Google/iCal/Outlook), emergency cover, dispute resolution, and an admin dashboard.
Tech stack: Vanilla HTML/CSS/JS (no frameworks), Supabase (Postgres, Auth, Storage, Edge Functions), Cloudflare Pages, Stripe, Resend.
