Company Performance Metrics
Geocentric is a Bethesda, Maryland-based software company that develops and operates Citylight, a geo-CMS platform purpose-built for place marketing organizations. Citylight powers the websites of destination marketing organizations (DMOs), convention and visitors bureaus (CVBs), business improvement districts (BIDs), and downtown districts across
the United States.
With nearly 100 clients on the platform, Geocentric serves as the digital infrastructure layer for organizations responsible for promoting and managing America's downtowns, arts districts, and tourist destinations. Clients include Downtown Los Angeles, Downtown San Francisco, RiNo Art District in Denver, Rosslyn BID in Virginia, and the Sugar Land TX CVB, among others.
The Citylight platform combines content management, interactive mapping, event calendars, business directory management, and tourism-specific features — including hotel booking integrations and multilingual support — in a single, managed SaaS product. Its geo-CMS architecture allows destination organizations to manage rich location-based content without the complexity or cost of enterprise alternatives.
Geocentric was a Pitch Dingman finalist at the University of Maryland's Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship and is a graduate of a Maryland TEDCO Technology Incubator. The company competes in the destination technology sector alongside Simpleview (a Granicus company), Tempest, and others.
