Fondation OPEN-C operates research and technology infrastructure dedicated to floating offshore wind and ocean renewable energies. The organization coordinates, develops and manages offshore testing across multiple French sea and river sites, providing grid-connected and off-grid environments for prototypes and technological components. It hosts
projects involving floating wind turbines, tidal and river turbines, wave energy converters, floating solar systems and offshore hydrogen technologies, as well as environmental observation equipment. Fondation OPEN-C also conducts environmental monitoring to track interactions between demonstrators and marine ecosystems and supports non-technological research on these topics. In addition, it offers training related to test site operation and maintenance, shares knowledge with the scientific community, and contributes to improving offshore safety and maintenance practices for the offshore renewable energy sector.
