As of December 18, 2002, Fibersense Technology Corp. was acquired by Northrop Grumman Corp. The company is commercializing advanced fiber optic technology for gyroscopes and other sensor products. The company makes solid-state fiber optic rotation sensors which are replacing the existing mechanical gyroscope technology common in present generation
guidance and navigational systems. Fibersense products are used in a wide range of applications, from mining equipment to military programs to space. It has sophisticated design, proto type assembly and manufacturing equipment which meet or exceed the industry's highest standards.
