Festwave Institute is created by the Fabienne Colas Foundation and provides professional development for Black and underrepresented film and TV creators. It offers structured workshops in areas such as screenwriting, directing, production management, dubbing, makeup and hairstyling, and production accounting. The organization runs paid internships
in audiovisual production and other industry roles to help participants gain on-the-job experience. It also delivers targeted training programs linked to the Being Black in Canada incubator, including short-form web and TV series writing. Festwave Institute organizes industry events such as roundtables, pitch sessions, and networking activities that connect emerging professionals with producers and other stakeholders. Its programs combine expert-led teaching, practical exercises, mentorship, and access to industry partners to support long-term careers in film and television.
